Haruhi decided that this boy was strange. She watched him scurry across the kitchen and pull a bowl out of the refrigerator, which apparently had been set aside from her. She stared at the note. "Are those for me..?" She asked, taking the bowl tentatively, eying Tamaki with a degree of suspicion before she took a bite of one of the strawberries. Yes. That was what she preferred to some over-sweet cake. Two strawberries later and any suspicion had dissolved entirely. "Thank you. These are really good!"
With a mouth full of slightly-too-ripe strawberry, the girl stared, brown eyes wide and unjudging. She swallowed the berry before asking, "Best friends?" Haruhi thought about school. Really, she had classmates she liked, but never really a whole lot of friends. But between taking care of herself, her father and the apartment.. she had to wonder if she really even had much time at all for such things. "We can try, I guess." The longer that she entertained the thought, the more appeal it had. Just so long as he wasn't this energetic all the time.
Tamaki beamed. "Hurrah! I've never had a best friend before!" For a moment he was fully distracted by the cake, but his mind inevitably wandered. "Whoever's room this is bought a lot of beautiful clothing!" he announced, as soon as the cake and berries were gone.
Haruhi set the bowl aside, her belly full and satisfied. This sure beat cooking something at home by far. "What kind of clothes? Maybe this person is an actor or something." She thought about what kind of person would keep lots of clothes around. Well, her dad kept lots of clothes around, but those were for work. "Or maybe they're just rich. I mean... this place is big, so they can afford lots of pretty clothes, too!" Made perfect sense.
"Funny clothes!" Tamaki said, grabbing Haruhi by the hand and tugging her over towards the closet. Inside, he opened a hatbox and retrieved a sombrero sized for his adult self, which slid down to the bridge of his nose when he placed it on his head now. "See?"
"Wow!" She found herself laughing at the boy. "I wanna try!" She then began sifting through the closet, pulling a thick poncho out and handing it over to Tamaki. "There. That'll match! Now let's see here..." She began looking through the clothes again, pilling out a pair of hakama and a suit jacket, pulling them both on. The clothes were huge, terribly mismatched, but comfortable. And for her, that's really all that mattered. "I think this person must be an actor! Who else would have costumes like this?"
"You must be right!" Tamaki said, then frowned. "But... that color doesn't go with THAT color... try this!" He retrieved a bright-colored kimono to match the hakama.
Haruhi easily swapped out the jacket and sloppily tied the kimono around her waist, in what would usually be the chest-area of the kimono. "I guess it looks better," She said, looking herself over, "My dad usually picks out clothes for me. I'm not too good at it," as was evidenced by her previous outfit choice. "What else is in here?"
Just as he said that, Haruhi pulled out a long sheer cloth, unsure of whether it was a scarf or a sash, she wrapped it around her head and tied it under her chin. "It's pretty..." She smiled and spun around, marveling in the way the humongous clothes moved around her tiny body. She had begun to laugh when she tripped on her oversized hakama, falling face-first onto the floor. As she got up, her eye caught a framed photo on the nightstand. "Hey... Who's that guy?" She asked, pointing to it, "Does he own these clothes?"
Haruhi stepped over to the photo and plucked it off of the table, examining it closely. He was probably the kind of guy her dad would find cute...But she really wasn't a very good judge on that sort of thing. Her dad thought all kinds of guys were cute. She looked back to Tamaki and brought the photo over to hand over to him. "Does he look familiar to you? Maybe this is his room. Should... we even be here?"
So the only logical conclusion would be to assume, "this guy is your papa? He's kind of young, isn't he..?" She scratched her head, confused, "You don't really look like him, either."
"No, that guy's a stranger I talked to on the computer. Papa has a mustache!" Tamaki looked quizzically at the picture. "Maybe... he's the hotel owner's son?"
"Could be... Would be a little weird for the hotel owner to put pictures of his son in all of the rooms... Unless this is one he uses all the time." She eyed Tamaki quizzically, "Do you know the hotel owner?"
"Then that's really weird..." She climbed up onto the bed, swinging her legs over the side and kicking them in a rather bored fashion. "So what do we do? Should we leave? We don't even know if we're allowed to be here anyway."
Well, that actually made sense. "Okay. That's a good idea. She'll know what's going on." She smiled and pulled the scarf from around her head, stretching with a yawn. "I think... maybe I'm gonna take a nap. It was a long, long walk here.." She laid back, her eyelids already heavy. "Not a real long one, of course... Just.. a lil.. nap." And she was out.
